Well this section seams pretty dead, but any predictions? Im going with Houston once again. They are a better team then they were in 2017. They have, by far, the best starting pitching. Offense is amazing. They look like the complete team.

That’s funny...going with Houston...heck you come from Houston. I’ve never seen a Red Sox fan cheer for the Yankees.  [poke]

I’m still trying to locate the channel the Twins are broadcast on cable TV...

Those of us in Metro Detroit long ago gave up any dreams of post-season glory...our chant:

First round draft pick!
First round draft pick!
First round draft pick!

Not baseball related, but I'm a NY Jets fan. I'm quite familiar with that chant......

My son is a long-suffering Jets/Mets/Knicks fan  [crying] , so here in our house we hear all the pessimism that can go along with a pro sports team LOL.

My Nats  [smile] did squeak in with the WC.  I used to say I didn't like the WC format, but now I've decided to change my opinion.  [big grin]

I do think that MLB should change the playoff format so WC series are at least three games. Single-game format in baseball is no good, in my opinion.

Not sure about making a prediction, but as always, I hope the WS goes to the NL.

Your son and I have a lot in common, but I'll add the Rangers for hockey in there lol. Going back to baseball, I'm all about the national league. Not a fan, at all, of the DH.

Peter,  Yes, the Rangers are on his list of grievances, as well.  [big grin]

As for college sports, he finally got some results because his UVA teams recently won the National Championship in baseball and basketball.

I keep trying to tell him that he can't have it all with his sports teams.  He often listens to Dad's advice, but not on this topic LOL .

DH, a terrible thing. [mad] And the no-pitch IBB, also bad.  [mad]  I  don't like the limit on mound visits and all the speed-up-the-game changes.  All that stuff is part of the game as far as I am concerned and if there is a good crew in the booth calling the game, then I think it's all part of  the theater of baseball.  [smile]

Also, we need some more Earl Weavers to provide quality manager ejections for entertainment value.  [big grin]

You lost me at UVA - I'm a Hokies fan along with the Wolfpack lol. Funny you mention the crew in the booth - the Mets had a game broadcast on Youtube a few weeks back. Maybe I'm partial (and used to) Keith & Gary on SNY, but the Youtube broadcast was just AWFUL.

Peter, I think Gary/Keith/Ron are the best in the business in the booth for TV.

I'm now with the Nats/Dodgers game, biting my nails and hoping for a Game 5 !!

I will check back in with you end of Nov with the UVA-VPI game.  [big grin]

Not to Jynx anything but whomever wins the lad stl series will go to the series imo. This is the only series I'm actually paying attention to.

I watched Cards-Braves today, have to know our future opponents ( being optimistic  [big grin] )

Come on down [member=6193]Rob Z[/member] - Our Astros pulled it off! The juice box will have its lid closed tight Tuesday night and we will be loud and ready for a great series against your Nats. Here’s to a great series with some unbelievable pitching from both teams. I can’t wait. May the best team win!

Hey Alan

I was, and continue to be, stunned that the Nats made it this far.  [eek] Everyone in the area who was howling for the manager's head when the team was in the doldrums has conveniently forgotten  about how they had written the team off LOL. I guess that's the way it goes with every team's fans.

The Astros look good, very good. I am hoping for a good and competitive Series and will be watching every AB.

Me too! I am a bit old school when it comes to baseball so I love a good pitchers duel. This should be good! Good luck!
