I just purchased the Benchdog Quad Hinge kit with boring template. I have the Festool OF 1400. Do I buy the Left hand bit or the right hand bit??? Any recommendations for the the boring bit?
I'm not really sure what I am asking - regular router bits are sold without regard to left hand or right hand. Now, all of the sudden, I'm looking for a 20mm plunge bit to put a 20mm in my MFT and I am to decide a left hand or right hand. I'm confused.
Festool makes a 20 mm boring bit to use in their routers. I've used it to make 20 mm holes in a Baltic birch MFT top, it's fantastic and it doesn't leave burn marks. https://www.festoolusa.com/accessory/491072---hw-s8-d20
Get the Festool bit, I've bored hundreds of holes with mine, practice a bit with speed to prevent burning, Those left and right boring bits are for line boring machines such as Blum or CMT and the spindles alternates direction.
