This weekend I noticed a small hole forming in my 27 mm antistatic hose. Suction is still quite good. The hose failure is on the end which connects to the tool. The hose is easily 10 years old and is used a lot. Two questions for the forum:

1. Is it possible to take of the hose to tool connection, shorten the hole, then reattach the hose to tool adaptor?

2. Should I even bother fixing this?

You should definitely bother fixing this. 3 minutes work to save you $105.  [smile]

If you get a small  hole in the middel of the hose, hot melt glue also does wonders.

I would have headed for the electrical tape, but that is a slick idea!

When I had a hole in my hose, I asked here for advice and somebody mentioned to try this. It worked great, it has been 2 years and the hole is still plugged.

Thanks all for the info. Seth's response reminded me of something a scientist told me recently, 10w40 and tape will solve 90% of your mechanical problems.

Best,
