So I purchased a planex and CT36 AC over 2 weeks ago and they are finally here. Does my 30 day start now that I finally have them or from the date of the receipt over 2 weeks ago? What is the official company line on this?

Paul, I'm assuming you ordered it and it wasn't in stock. Really, you shouldn't have had to pay until you received the product. But, anyway...

In the spirit of the policy, which is to give customers ample opportunity to assess a tool, I would say that you should have the tool in your hands to use for 30 days. I would probably have been good to get the dealer to annotate the receipt with the date you took delivery. Maybe you can still have that done.

This is an interesting question.  Some dealers charge your card when the product ships.  So your bank/credit card statement could show a date and you could receive your order 3-7 days.  Do you know if dealers get a delivery confirmation that starts the clock?  Obviously if you buy at a brick and mortar store the clock would start when you leave with the product.

I don't know whether dealers get a delivery confirmation. I think most customers can probably tell pretty quickly whether the tool is for them or not and not require 30 full days so it wouldn't be an issue. I also think dealers understand transit time and should be accommodating. If that's not the case feel free to reach out to me and I'll help out. But I think we're talking in hypotheticals here.

Orders don't normally take this long, I'm told you ran out of the CT36AC and it was backordered. I did have the retailer note the received date on the receipt, plus I have the UPS tracking # showing todays arrival so there is plenty of documentation. I'll know soon enough if this is a love it or leave it tool set once I get to the vaulted ceilings, but at first glance looking things over I must say I'm very impressed with the engineering thus far and please convey my thanks to the package designers  for leaving room in the systainer for the extra extension I bought. I went whole hog with the harness, my elbows aren't what they used to be. The 30 day return policy sure puts me at ease buying stuff sight unseen, thanks for clarifying the policy.
