This is a little self serving, but I think many of you will enjoy it. It's a video of a process I came up with to drill out holes at perfect 32mm spacing using just the MFT as a guide – no holy rail required!

Hope to inspire somebody out there.

DIY LR32 System with MFT

Love it Kriss, well done on another great informative video.
This technique uses kit I already have and so I'm stealing it.
I may also steal this method to produce a replacement mft top. [thanks]
Best regards
Scott

You're like the Festool Kid! You have a good mind Kriss. I hope you don't lose interest in woodworking.

I certainly hope not to lose interest in woodworking too, Charlie.  Gotta earn back the investment in the tools somehow [wink]

Awesome idea and video. Great to see some innovative takes on Festool usage. You have gone to the top of my YouTube woodworking queue. Looking forward to any upcoming video. Thanks

Great idea but I think I would set the kick back stops apart by the distance between the holes you want. Then you can cut both holes on each level, saving you time. You'd just have to be careful the router didn't move as you plunge but it shouldn't with those dowel drill cutters

That's awesome, thank you. I was getting ready to order the LR32 and a holey rail pretty soon. Now I have to decide if I still get the system or use the money for a different Festoy.

Awesome point – I did not think to do that, but definitely see how it will save time. Might even make this technique faster than the holy rail for small jobs. I'm going to try next time!
