Bought this back at the beginning of March.
Looks to have brand new tannewitz tires, needs a few little things, new master cylinder for the brakes, new wheel cylinders and shoes as well. Got it stripped to the frame in about 5 hours.

out of curiosity do you know what model axle/car that brake assembly is from.
I will know as soon as I cross reference the wheel cylinder.

With that style hold down spring and link self adjuster, my guess is an early ‘70’s Chrysler system. It would have been made by Wagner back then. I do know that is a Wagner master cylinder.

Note there is a primary and secondary brake shoe on the backing plate, don’t mix up their location.

I've never torn into bandsaws, is that kind of brake setup normal?  Being able to go down to NAPA for service parts for a tool like that is nice.

All Lockheed wagner components.
Figured it was Chrysler or ford as those seem pretty common on machines with brakes.

Lots of manufacturers had brakes, yates American had a shoe/drum set up, so did fay and egan, tannewitz was probably at the front of the bandsaw brake implementation.

New brakes, all AMC parts.

Frame filled, sanded, primed, painted.

Both of the saws I owned (24" Centauro and a 36" Wilson) had just one brake on the bottom drive wheel.
Tannewitz has always been ahead of the pack, but still is interesting to see a dual brake system.
