36mm-->32mm Tapered Hose in North America???

Greetings Festool!!

I read a very interesting thread in another forum about the Protool and Festool dust extraction hoses that taper from 36mm at the dust extractor, to 32mm at the tool end. From what I read, this hose performs very well, with nearly the same dust collection as the standard 36mm hose, but with the flexibility and agility of the 27mm hoses.

With many of my intermediate tools (EHL-65, TS-75, angle grinder w/dust shroud, OF-1400, etc….) the D27 hose is nice and agile but insufficient airflow, whereas the D36 has tons of airflow but is tricky to work with. Also, with the D27 hose, the "male" end further restricts airflow, whereas the "female" end of the 36mm and 36-->32mm hose still utilizes the full diameter of the hose. This 36mm-->32mm hose seem ideal for many of our mid-sized hand power tools!!

Are there any plans to bring this hose to North America?….. PLEASE??……….

It's not currently offer in NA, but I've suggested that we add it to the mix. Thanks, Tom.

It does come with the CT MINI and MIDI now though.

Hi Shane, thanks for the quick response!!

Thank you for the info. I feel like Festool has a lot of great "sleeper" products that could make a big splash in North America, that wouldn't necessarily cost very much to distribute or need UL clearance. With the absorption of ProTool, I'm very excited to hopefully see Festool further expand into the general carpentry and remodeling fields in 2014!

Is there an adapter that does the same thing. This might be just the answer for some of my dust collection connection problems. I have bought some Festools (TS55REQ and the 1400 router) but the 36mm hose end from the CT48 I have makes it difficult to connect to some of my other non-Festool tools. Wish I could buy all Festools but that doesn't make sense when the others are perfectly good yet.

The new hose for the CT MINI/CT MIDI is 499742, which is a 32mm to 27mm hose with a right angle fitting at the inlet of the CT. It is available and I sell them.

The one the OP is referring to is a 36mm to 32mm. We don't have that one here yet.

Oops, sorry for the mistake. Yes, the CT MINI/MIDI come with the 32 > 27mm hose. I did ask about getting the 36 > 32mm hose though, which we don't have as Tom said.
