36mm Hose for boom arm.

Hello All
Got the boomarm for my ctl26 a couple of weeks back and absolutely love it but feel my extraction hose could do with been a metre or so longer.
Current hose is the 50mm 1.5m hose that comes with the boom arm connected to a 3.5m 27mm hose.
I'd like to replace the above with one 7m 36mm hose (maybe cut a half metre of that), Also planning a 36 to 27 reducer on the end for sander / domino etc. That all sound ok for suction / extraction?
Other question is... Can you get a longer say 7m plug it cable or can you make them up?

I do not have a 36mm hose that long but use the 3.5m hose with a reducer on the end. That works great. In fact, I have found that the 36mm hose is much better overall for the TS55, routers, even the Domino and sanders. However, with the sanders it is a little more difficult to manage with the thicker, less flexible hose; not impossible. As far as I know, the extra length shouldn't make any difference on effectiveness of the vac. I have heard of much longer hoses being used without problem. You might try asking Festool service to be sure, though.

What would you really gain by adding an extra meter-and-a-half of hose? The cord length matches well with a 3.5m hose.

But the purpose of the boom arm is that the hose hangs down, and doesn't lie on the ground or your workpiece. If you make it longer, it will no longer hang.

erm 1m or 1.5m gain?  ;D
I just feel i could do with a bit more like today i was making a garden bench on my mft/3 (boom arm comes from behind the mft/3)
when i put the bench on the floor to finish and glue etc i couldn't reach all of it with the sander, it was to high when up on the bench.
So today an extra metre would have been perfect..  also for longer reach for cleaning stuff..

Unless you have some limitations about where you can roll the vac around your shop, the added length really doesn't add much (possibly nothing). In fact, I'd say that a hose longer than the 3.5m would probably end up getting in the way. If you want to extend the hose for only certain operations (like something on the other side of your shop where you can't actually move the vac to) then maybe just add another 36mm or 27mm length to the existing hose. I think you can buy something from Festool that would allow you to couple the two together. Then you wouldn't be stuck with the long hose all the time. Plus, there is the issue of what to do about the cord. It works well with the 3.5m hose (sometimes is a little short even when I stretch out the hose to get it up out of the way).
