I know this may seem like a dumb request but I would love to have a 43mm standard collar attachment for the cordless drills so they could mount on a small drill stand or to use a side handle when needed. Looking at how the other attachments connect, it seems like it would be an easy thing to make and would enhance the drills functionality a lot IMO.

I'd probably try to make my own if I had a metal lathe/mill.

hi gary.

would it not be better with an electric drill.

i imagine the batteries 1500 life cycles would get used up pretty quickly in a drill press.

Gary,

If you are looking for something that might be useful that has a 43 mm opening here is a link:  Z Vise (zyliss) clamping system

Look thru the videos and then look for the "lathe" attachment.  It is 43 mm and can be utilized in the vertical position to make a "mini drill press".

I have one of the original Zyliss clamps and had never even thought about trying a Festool drill.  Thanks for the thought!

The reason I was after the collar attachment was for better accuracy on small jobs, rather than full time press work. I have two drill presses for that stuff. This is for small and quick with a little drill stand I can tuck away. My electric drill doesn't have a 43mm collar either. Life is much simpler for this sort of thing over in Europe :)

And I was brain breezed.  The Festool drills won't work anyway.

You could always try one of the "portable drill press" stands that attach thru the chuck.  I admit I have bought two and have no idea where they are now.  That might tell my opinion of them, but everyone is different.
