Searching for "MULTI-JETSTREAM 2" or "MJ2" here returns no hits, so I thought I'd post about it.

MULTI-JETSTREAM 2 with 49 holes for D150 will be introduced from September according to the German press release.

Thanks for posting.  It will take a while for me to run through my current abrasives stock, but depending upon the new pad prices, this looks like it will be a good upgrade.

The current RO150 pad is pretty good. While I like this new concept I hope they decide to keep the current pad as well. Striping paint off an old uneven surface I always catch something on one of the current holes which tears up the paper. This is an invitation to destruction of paper and backing pad for anything less than smooth new wood.

What paper are you using?

I use Saphir for that type work and I have never had a piece rip. Saphir is tough paper, especially the lower grits.

It usually rips when it gets caught on a nail, splintered wood or some other raised unforeseen item. Again I beat the crap out of my Rotex.

Here is a very short clip of the new pad being used on plasterboard.

If you look closely you can see how the dust that would normally escape from the edge is pulled back in.

Forgive the intro - it was just a bit of fun.

Anyone upgraded to the Multi-Jetstream 2 pads? How could they really have improved on what is already the best RO sanding dust collection on the market?! Im wondering if I should pick them up to upgrade the old ones on my ETS EC 150/3. Seems like going forward all the sanding discs will be the new Multi-Jetstream 2 style and while I realize the older discs will still work, I just cant imagine the new design could really leave any less dust behind.

Hi Ben

The new discs are amazing - hence me posting the video. I have not converted yet as I have a large stock of various grits and need to work my way through. It really is worth doing though as the improved efficiency is easy to spot.
