I needed a router table…badly…Again.

This time I decided to finally build one. I calculated the costs for the materials needed. searched for the aluminum extrusions, MDF, etc. and ended up purchasing one from Ruthland in the UK for 90 Sterling Pounds. (Which is way, WAY cheaper than getting the materials needed to build one over here in wonderful Finland (sarcasm emoticon)) I thought to add a lift and pondered for a while. Then I got it! I had an old car jack laying around and came up with a way to fit it under the table. When done and being very proud of my invention I googled: car jack router lift and… many hits came about. Of course I wasn't the first who "invented" this marvelous idea. But hey, It meets my requirements! I can change bits from above the table and adjust the height of the router bit and lock the router (OF 1400) from it's knob after height adjustments.

Just thought I would share it.

Thanks for post.
Shows what can be done for a modest outlay.

Would get more from Rutlands if stocked more
metric gear - so much is imperial.

Would you tell me what background music was playing?
Sounded very relaxing to my ears - would like to
know more.

Richard.

Hi Richard,

Yeah, imperial should be banned, shouldnt it?  [tongue]
That is the Dirty Three playing in the background. One of my all time favorites. Not always "relaxing" music but as in the video. They are way up on my list.
Check out their albums; Dirty Three, Horse stories, Ocean Songs

(they are Australian btw)

Thanks Mauri.

I'll Google them in a few minutes.
Certainly tickled my curiosity.

Might touch base with my grand-son about them as well.
He has quite wide ranging tastes in 'modern' music - lol.

All the best
Richard
