If I search Festool 496942 on amazon I find a listing from Tool Nut selling the set for $30. Is anyone else seeing this?

???
Purchased one, thanks for the info.
If it's too good to be true.....
Time will tell.

Fair warning- I ordered one just on the off chance it wasn't a screw up.  I got two order confirmations in my email- one from amazon showing the centrotec set and one from Tool Nut indicating that I had ordered an abrasive.  So, pretty sure when Tool Nut opens tomorrow there is going to be a lot of refund paperwork to do....

This sounds like another "McFeely Drills" thread. Everyone wants it to be a valid offer but you know it is not. The Tool Nut will take heat from customers because they feel they should get the item because it was on the website. Too bad this happened on a weekend so the thread goes on and on before it can be rectified. We all know the Festool pricing policy. So don't get your hopes up and be kind when the bubble bursts.

It's definitely a mistake.  The order confirm comes back as a pack of abrasives.  Something got cross referenced incorrectly between amazon and ToolNut I suspect. Already gave Peter a heads up.  So if you're reading this and haven't placed an order, don't.  If you already did, please don't cry, you knew it was too good to be true!

Festool's pricing policy does not apply to accessories, only tools. CPO was selling them for 50% off which is what started this thread.

I have also received an email receipt from Tool Nut saying I bought some abrasives with a totally different part number so obviously something is awry.

I had a feeling it may be too good to be true but amazon does have some deals that are hard to believe.

I can remember when amazon was selling 2 Stiletto hammers, cats paw, duffle bag and hat for $100. Many guys got a cancellation but quite a few received what they ordered.

It's not a scam, a mistake perhaps. I won't be disappointed if I don't get it, but I would be disappointed if I miss out on a deal. We shall see.

Anything happen with this ?

I sent them an email yesterday, but no response.

Same here, no communication so far. I got the Amazon receipt that shows the drill set, but the Tool Nut emailed receipt shows something else. I asked them to clarify, and to cancel if it was not the drill bit set. We will see.

I have ordered multiple times from Tool Nut with no problems, both through Amazon and on their direct website. I think this was an honest mistake. (Though it can still be found on Amazon at 30 bucks - http://www.amazon.com/Festool-496942-Imperial-Centrotec-Drill/dp/B0058HWL2A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1410214176&sr=8-2&keywords=496942)

I heard from them this afternoon.  It was a mistake, but the are still chasing the root cause.  Meanwhile I asked them to cancel my order (unless they wanted to fulfill it). It was cancelled immediately.  :P

My 62 dollar set is shipped. I look forward to seeing what is in the package..

I'm not going to speak for any dealer, but obviously this was an error. Festool's "pricing" applies to tools, accessories and consumables - with the exception being for discontinued items.

Whoa!  SORRY guys.  [eek] [eek] [eek]

I've been up in the very very off the grid woods of Nova Scotia for the past two weeks or so.  I just returned yesterday AM and this issue was brought to my attention.  As some of you mentioned, it had an opportunity to gain some steam over the weekend.  I apologize about this.  I apologize that a bunch of you thought you had struck gold.  Regretfully we'll be cancelling all the orders.  I appreciate the wisdom shown here expressing that this would be the likely outcome.  Thanks a ton for understanding that mistakes do happen.

Here's a rundown.  We migrated to new business management software about 10 days ago.  Our entire firm is flipped on it's head and we're operating in a new universe for all intent and purposes.  Circumstantially, there's been some mistakes... that's to be expected.  As a bunch of ya figured, an abrasive item was accidentally mapped to our Amazon listings, replacing the sell price of this bit kit with the sell price of the abrasive.  Ugh, yuck and eww are some thoughts that come to mind when I realized what had happened and how many orders had been placed!

Another sorry...  Yesterday being my first full day back in the office, I was scanning the FOG and somehow missed this thread.  It was brought to my attention this AM.  Shoulda been on top of this yesterday and not let it run out an extra day.

Please have mercy on myself and all The Tool Nuts ;)  Again, sorry a thousand times over.

A follow up note, we have not shipped any of these sets at this incorrect price and will no be.  It seems another dealer may have released some, or simply released tracking info emails.  I believe their automated algorithms reacted to our pricing error.

In hindsight, maybe not a good idea to go "off the grid" right before the company implements a major new software system?  [poke]
