I need my 50mm that came with my boom arm assembly to be about 2 feet longer. I know I can buy an 8 1/4 50mm hose from Festool for $135 but was wondering if there is a less expensive way to accomplish what I am trying to do. My boom arm is mounted to a CT22 with Ultimate DD. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Jack

If you take the cyclone off the DD and rotate it 90 degrees towards the boom arm you'll probably pick up the 2' you need. Or just turn the whole lid around so the intake faces the boom arm.

I noticed the 90 degree issue too, but that only improves the cyclone's intake side, not the exhaust port out the top. I thought your problem was the hose from the cyclone to the vac. Placing a Sortainer below your UDD may eliminate the need for the hose you now use on the cyclone's intake side, but increases the length hose needed to the vac.

After thinking about rotating the cyclone further that will not work in my case because the hose outlet would then interfere with the shelf I built to hold my TS55. Not a lot of shop real estate to play with. The space between my bandsaw and planer you can see in the the background of the front photo view. So rotating the cyclone side to side will also not work. I am back to extending the length of my 50 mm hose by 18 to 24 inches without paying Festool $135 for an 8 1/4 hose. Any other ideas?

Thanks
Jack

For $80 you can get the Bosch anti-static 3Meter x 35mm hose that's at least 2' longer on the other end and utilize the extra length to solve you're needs at the CT.  That's what I did.

I too, bought the Bosch hose and replaced the ends with Festool connectors and covered most of the hose with Techflex PET expandable sleeving that I bought form CableOrganizer.com - BS175 - 40"/ $66.  THe Techflex was enough to cover three hoses...not full lenght as the vac end is not where binding occurs.
