Hi,

I'm looking for a 6" or 150mm bit holder 1/4 extension that is typically used in an impact or drill.

It needs to be very magnetic such that the fixing is held onto the fastener.

Equally it needs to not release the fastener without some action - sliding the collar etc.

Regards
Joe

Do you have first hand knowledge it will hold a screw as well?

It's not a very strong grip, but it pulled a couple screws out of my bins. Hope this helps.

No, it is not a mechanical grip on the fastener.

I don't recall seeing any of that type. No doubt they exist.

I will keep looking. Not because I need one but I like the challenge of locating items like this.

So something like this but longer.

Ah I see what you mean now. That bit holder is cool. Couldn't you use an extension to get the required length?

I have an old Ryobi with a sleeve that extends over the screw. It's magnetic and can somewhat keep the screw from tipping out but not nearly as well as the driver you posted. It's only 4", not the required 6". I'm not sure if they still make them.

Thanks, i'm based in uk, Amazon uk do stock it.

£22 delivered.https://www.amazon.co.uk/DEWALT-DWA6HLDFT-Impact-Ready-Extension/dp/B07PHKTHN7?th=1

The only thing is, it says, 'magnetism for fastener' not fixing.

Do you have first hand knowledge it will hold a screw as well?

Apologies I wasn't clear.
As long as it locks the 'bit' which I was incorrectly calling the fastener. This is fine for me.
But it needs to have enough magnetism strength to then hold a screw onto the 'bit'
It looks like the Dewalt does tick the boxes as it locks the bit, and holds a screw through magnetism.

Wera ring magnet looks good, but it's shorthttps://www.amazon.co.uk/Wera-Unive...37&hvtargid=pla-421726817728&psc=1&th=1&psc=1

See previous post, it's not what we need.
BUT
This does look very interesting.
I guess it could be extended, but sometimes you just want one long one.

I contacted them to see if they have a longer version and the answer was not but they could make one fast if there was enough interest. He didn't say how much interest (as in numbers) he would need to run off a batch.
