Looking for a 60” 3/4” round “baluster” I want to make my fence sections with the 3/4” round black tubing that deck railings can be made out of. Problem is I cannot find anything longer then 38”

Any ideas? Want something pre painted, individual “rods”

Thanks!!

You can buy color coded EMT (electrical conduit) in 10' lengths and cut in half for 2 pieces.

Powder coating can be insanely cheap. The house I’m building we got custom cast iron balusters and had all 45 or so powder coated for like 300$. I was expecting much much more.

thanks guys, thought about the conduit but cant find anything that would be economical pre-painted black. Also got a quote for powdercoating EMT and due to the "small" individual tubes they would have to fabricate a holder for them all. Quote was 4x more then the cost of black EMT. :(

there has to be something out there that could work that is cost effective.

Well what are you expectations for what its going to cost? Powder coating is very robust and will look better and hold up better than just a rattle can of rust oleum.

Dont get me wrong, I definitely want it to last. I was hoping todo this for around $60-$80 a section. with the cost to powdercoat it would have been close to 200 a section. Either I need to change the design, figure out if our dog wont jump a 4ft fence or chalk it up and spend that much.

Problem is we back up to a creek and would still like the view from the house/in the yard. Wife has her heart set on the spindle design (my fault) I started out wanting to just do 6ft black aluminum fence sections between cedar posts then ran across the deck railing as a fence and thought that was a good way to make it look a bit more custom. Didnt dream it would be so difficult to find a 50-60" spindle! Personally I would prefer the cable look but she thinks its to modern looking  [huh]

What about copper pipe?  It’s not black, but it can be darkened to “almost” black.  From a distance it will look black.
