Hello all,

I have a 75 eq and I am currently have troubles with the front Jaw Guide staying put. Before a cut i adjust the front a rear guide to eliminate all the play. At times I can only go about four feet before the front Jaw Guide gets so tight on the track that i can not move the saw. Just yesterday i was cutting 2" thick walnut slabs and on every cut i would get roughly half through and then i would have to stop readjust the guide to finish my cut. As you can imagine the quality of the of cut is far from being desirable. If any one as any ideas please pass them along. Also I am certain the front jaw guide is moving i put a witness line on Jaw Guide and it moved roughly one half of a revolution and then go so tight i could not cut any further.

  Thanks for the heko.

Sounds like you need to tighten the screws up some on the adjuster. They shouldn't move mid cut.

^Once that is resolved, you can check to see if the saws toe is set correctly. Most likely once you have the adjuster issue taken care of the saw will preform excellently :)

Thanks for getting back to me so fast Peter. I looked at the bottom of the saw and I did NOT see any screws to tighten. Unless of course i am missing something.

Ear3's pic, shows the screw in the center of the green rail tension adjuster. That screw should tension the rail tensioner to keep it from moving 1/2 through the cut.

My 75 does not have screws it as a cap with metal tabs. Must of been a cost cutting measure to save 5 cents on 1000 dollar saw. I have nothing but troubles with the saw. As a matter of fact the first one that I had did they same thing. I was within the first 30day so I got my money and like moron I purchased another because I could not find a saw that could cut as deep. After searching the message board last night I a few others reported the same thing. I they had to send the saw back to repaired. What do you after the warranty runs out. I guess what i will have to do is use the track like fence just like i did before purchased this saw. Peter thank you so much for providing the image and a solution if I had the same base as you.

Simply push that washer further in. Not defending Festool, but there are many ways to tighten adjuster wheel before giving up on the saw.

I tried pushing the slip clip down I dont believe moved at all. I called festool customer service and was advised to clean the guide and followup by waxing. According to the tech that I talked nice person by the way he told me that dirt builds up the guide and will cause the front Jaw to grab and tighten. I cleaned the rail the lacquer thinner and followed up a coating of Johnsons paste wax. Did not seem too much of a build up on the rail before I cleaned but I followed his instructions. I will put the saw to the test in a few days and report back.

Thanks for all your inputs.

Find a socket that fits over the post and gently tap that star thingy down tighter. Pushing won't do as much as a gentle tap.

Yeah I would not consider that an upgrade, but a cost savings.

Sorry for taking so long to report back on my issue. The Festool customer support person was spot on. I cleaned the track with lacquer thiner and applied paste wax (he recommended using wax paper). The saw has been working perfectly since the thorough cleaning.
