$99 PRO 5 Sander Promotion + $50 Voucher - New Festool REQ Sanders (US)

I ordered the new 400 at the same time. Is that going to be delayed also? I intended to use the $50.00 rebate against the 400 but now if it ships on November 1, it may be interpreted as a prior purchase.

There's nothing to indicate a delay on anything other than the PRO 5 sander. So the RTS 400 REQ and DTS 400 REQ should be shipping on schedule. Per the terms of the voucher, it's good on any power tool purchase from 11/1/16 - 12/31/17, so you should be fine. [member=57769]TylerC[/member] can confirm.

Shane is correct. The new RTS and DTS sanders will ship on time and shouldn't affect anything with the rebate.

I wouldn't sweat the date of the second tool purchase too much. If anyone runs into any issues as they try to submit their info, please contact me directly. As long as you're not clearly trying to game the system, you'll probably be fine.

Any indication yet whether more will be made available?

If you're asking for those who did not order before Festool suspended sales, I don't think that's clear at this point. I think the priority is to fulfill pre-orders first.

I will be sending an email with this statement to any of our customers who have orders that will be delayed. If you do not receive this email and you ordered from us, your order is scheduled to be shipped on November 1st.

For reference, my order was placed at 10/5 at 10:42 AM and I received a "Your order is delayed" email. I'm guessing this should have been capped at one per customer if orders couldn't survive 24 hours from when the email was sent.

I've seen this mentioned multiple times in this thread and I've not said anything because I can't speak about the promotion as a whole, but... From our orders, there was not an issue with customers ordering in bulk, or even more than one. Sure, there were some people who ordered two, but that was very much a small percentage of orders. The number who ordered more than 2 was almost nonexistent.

Like others, I ordered early morning on 10/5.

I truly appreciate the update but am not too happy with the delay especially given the fact my order was made early on in the promo. I paid with PayPal instead of CC. With that being the case my card was charged on the 5th when I ordered. Paying via PP was my choice at the time of purchase but that choice was made with a promise of an 11/1 ship date. Now with the update I don't even have any real information on my order other than it is delayed.

I realize that this whole situation is out of Tool Nut control.

And yet, like a true glutton, I will continue to purchase :) I mean seriously....what's the choice?!?!!?!?!??!?

hmmmmm, wonder if we'll see delivery slots for pro5s from ToolNut & others auctioned or sold or traded to those that didn't order in the first few hours ?

Kinda reminds me of the Cabbage Patch doll craze a few decades ago.

For Reference, I got the delay email from Toolnut.  Order was placed 10/4  9:51 pm EST.  Less than 12 hours after Shane's announcement.  It'll get here, when it gets here. Just as long as it does in fact get here . [tongue]

Quik

Thanks Shane. Assuming you are a representative sample of all sources, if people at less than 12 hours are getting delays, Festool seriously underestimated the demand on this promotion. I appreciate that it's not your fault and you don't have more information to give us, but boy howdy what a disappointment.

Everyone,

We have been notified by Festool that, due to overwhelming demand, we will not be receiving all PRO 5 sanders by the Nov 1st ship date.  But don't sweat!  Your sander is on the way, but at this time we do not have an ETA.  We will immediately communicate additional shipment ETA's in the coming days and weeks as we receive updates. Please note that this inventory shortage affects all Festool dealers, not just The Tool Nut.

As we receive additional inventory, orders will ship in the order they were received.

For those whose orders are affected, please accept our apologies for the delay with your Festool PRO 5 sander order. We will continue to keep you up-to-date with the latest information.

I will be sending an email with this statement to any of our customers who have orders that will be delayed. If you do not receive this email and you ordered from us, your order is scheduled to be shipped on November 1st.

You have to give it to Festool.....clearly they are committed to make sure everyone who placed an order will receive the sander.  Perhaps (due to overwhelming demand), it will come a little late, but it will come.

I mean not really we are paying customers this isn't like it was a free promotion. The whole idea of it was to entice new customers to their brand, don't treat it like they're doing us a favor (sure it works out that way for us).

I didn't mean to imply they were doing us a favor, more that they are doing the right thing, which should be expected.

I know this will never happen, but I'd be very curious to know what volumn Festool was prepared for and how many orders they received when they stopped accepting new orders.

Another interesting statistic we'll never know is how many orders were placed by those of us already invested in Festool products vs. orders placed by first time Festool buyers.

I'm wondering if there are really a lot of people out there who are genuinely interested in Festool, but cannot justify the price.

Just curious...

Based on some of the replies around here I think they were gobbled up by by current users of Festool on the order of 80 / 20 .

Posts on the FOG are not a good sample set... this is the FESTOOL owners group forum after all.  [big grin] I suspect Festool was successful in reaching a good number of new buyers. The shipping delays could undermine the goal of the promotion for some.

Festool never wants to alienate its current customers with a promotion. If this had been for new customers only, two things would have happened. 1) Many current customers would be mad. 2) Many current customers would game the system by creating aliases or using their wife's, friend's, family member's, or dog's name and email address. [blink]
