For Reference, I got the delay email from Toolnut.  Order was placed 10/4  9:51 pm EST.  Less than 12 hours after Shane's announcement.  It'll get here, when it gets here. Just as long as it does in fact get here . [tongue]

I ordered mine within 5hrs of the notification and I received the email saying that my order is delayed. I also just read a topic from Bob Marino that Festool (at this time) will not be shipping the original amounts order by dealers.http://festoolownersgroup.com/festo...r-promotion-where-are-we/msg481543/#msg481543

Maybe I shouldn't have ordered the abrasives for the sander [oops]

I also ordered within hours and facing a delay. Was hard enough waiting for Nov 1st.  [sad]

When I saw the email, I went right to site and purchased. I missed a Woodpecker lift by waiting and I wasn't going to let it happen again. I figured, buy now, ask questions later. Then I went to FOG and looked for any comments and there was nothing. Seems like it wasn’t until way later or the next day I started to read about it. So maybe I may be on the wait list but I haven't seen my email.

I fall in a bit different camp, just starting out with my Festool collection and was contemplating on purchasing this type of sander. For me it’s a win win, new sander and I can spend voucher on something else. The promotion has already worked, I spent money with Tool Nut on sand paper and new pad. Festool will make their money back.

That is almost the exact situation I am in here. I have a lightly used Domino that I picked up a couple of months ago but have been wanting to start picking up some other Festool as the need came along. This promotion will most definitely accelerate that process for me.

Like it or not Festool has managed to create a huge buzz within the woodworking community with this promotion and I feel like they have hit their target market right on the head. When was the last time that you saw any manufacturer at any price point consistently stay at the top of virtually every related forum out there for weeks and weeks?  I know I can't remember anything like this.

The pros that use Festool on a day to day basis are already purchasing their products and consumables at a relatively good rate. The money for them now is at the high end of the DIY / amateur WWer spectrum. Those of us for whom high end tools are a "nice to have" and not a need to have to make a living. I most likely would have picked up one or maybe two additional Festool items in the next 12-18 months, most likely a dust extractor. But with the rebate that timeline is probably going to be reduced to almost immediately on a dust extractor and very likely will include an additional item or two that would not have been originally considered.

Like many of you I got the email and will have to wait for a bit longer then I had anticipated but that's going to be OK with me.

I wonder what we'll all talk about after all the Pro 5's have been delivered?

At this point, it will almost be a let down after all the suspense and guessing is over...

Maybe someone will start a new thread entitled "How did you use your Pro 5 sander today"... [big grin]

I think the high end diy'er and hobbyist are already a large part of the Festool customer base.  Just take a look at the number of 'tuber videos that are made by non professionals.

The PRO5 moniker also suggests they were not after the hobbyist.

I'm guessing the "deal" talk will continue for a while because I suspect many will be waiting a while to have the orig. order fulfilled.  I also wouldn't be surprised to see some winding up for sale on the secondary market before all orig. purchasers have their orders filled.

That's going to be a lively discussion if it happens.  [popcorn]

I also received the notice about the delay. Would be a nice gesture for a $25 additional voucher for inconvenience?

(Though it would then be interesting To see those whose orders weren't delayed complain that they didn't get the voucher)  [big grin]

I placed an order yesterday at a vendor that thought they had X units allocated.  Yesterday afternoon they were apparently notified that they had Y units allocated, and I was a name or two below the cut line.  I'm curious to see what comes of it.

I am a newbie, and the deal enticed me in a way to start buying this brand.  I now have three festool items, but this would have been four, and also given a voucher for the fifth.  That's a big deal.

Did any dealers on here order extra? I would very much like to have one but I was on vacation that week and missed the notifications of the sale in my email.

dward - I think it's a bit more complex than that now.

Shane hinted that they'd ordered more than enough ( or so he'd thought) to cover the orders they'd got before the moratorium - and then some. But.............................

Just this week , notices went out that even some of those that were in line before the halt are going to have to wait because of re-allocation among other dealers by Festool.

So, while it's possible some place is going to have a windfall arrive at their shop ,compared to pre-orders, I doubt it's many.  I'd also suspect they are mom and pop type shops opposed to those that have web sales.

Got a new Poplar Woodworking magazine yesterday. There is a full page back cove ad on the $99 5 Pro Sander.
There will be a lot of surprised people that try to get the sander based on the ads PWW & other WW magazines only to discover they are already all gone.

I love the colors of that black and green systainer.  I think Festool should switch to that color scheme for all their systainers.  The downside is: I'll want to switch all my old systainers.... :'( :'( :'(

Funny, I really dislike the black and green Systainer.  It's mostly the green handle.

Prefer the dark systainer by a huge margin. I guess I am the only one that actually get these things dirty. My sytainers look like crap after a week. The dark ones are going to look good forever.

I thought they were dark blue, but I know one guy that already has one and he swears it's black, I guess we will see. I know a lot of guys cant see colors well, but even that Instagram picture sure makes it look black.

Mine get dirty too but I feel like the lighter ones hide the dirt better than the black. Doesn't Festool claim their tools are blue too? It all looks black to me.
