Ouch! Cheap bits?! That hurts. I mean... you don't by a Mercedes and put a cheap aftermarket radio in it. Do you?

I don't actually have the router bit systainer but based on those comments would it not be the same to consider the router bit systainer or the sandpaper systainers as "gag gifts" also? Hers a for instance....My wife "Hey Honey! Happy birthday! I bought you a systainer to put your expensive qwas dogs in!"  Me, the dutiful, courageous handsome husband "Gee whiz sweetie cakes! What a thoughtful gift!".

I stand by my opinion, this is a great idea Bob!

Thanks again, Chris.

I'm interpreting your statement as this being more of a high school urinating match than a discussion on it's merits.  Why would I buy a Mercedes and put a cheap aftermarket radio in it?  That's a non-sequitur.

If you have a collection of expensive router bits, it makes sense to have a space efficient protective storage system for them.

I would, and did, buy a Systainer to protect my router bits.  The router bits are worth far more than my Qwas dogs, and are much more easily damaged and difficult to repair or replace.  The sandpaper, I said I took your point.  I did buy those, and can connect those Systainers to my sander Systainers so they are readily available.  The sandpaper ones are full, so they aren't expensive boxes with wasted space.  There's utility there.  Same with the router bit Systainer.

This on the other hand, a mini-sys with spaces for a handful of dogs?  It isn't a space or money efficient way to store them.  It doesn't connect to my table for organized transport or ready storage.  It isn't protecting some major investment in fragile parts.  It's a small box with a special foam thing in it and some special labels.

I was decent and took your point on the sandpaper.  At least be a decent conversational partner and acknowledge mine.
