A New Rail Square Coming to Market - Teaser for Future Review

Hans,

Gave my PG-16 it's maiden voyage, no fiddling with the setup, grabbed a rail - slide - click - cut... perfect!

I checked the first 3-4 cuts, didn't find one with more run-out than perhaps 10-thou over 18" (1/4 MM), which probably came from something other than the guide. This is something we can use with confidence, no need to check the setup or results.

Great addition to the arsenal.

Richard, I see that you have the Woodpeckers precision 450mm square.  Did you just receive it?  I ordered one and have been wondering when it might show up. How do you like it?

Yes, of course.  Please use it any way you like.

[member=30413]mike_aa[/member] - that setup pretty much obviates the need for parallel guides in many situations. Faster setup and equal results. I'll probably be using it a lot myself.

I agree with you.  Although the parallel guides might have an edge for longer multiple cuts, I do really like this set-up.  After I took the photo, I used the GRS to make a 30 inch cut and it was perfectly square.

Hi Klemm

New product looks very good and looks to solve the problem of using the guide rails accurately when out on site away from the workshop and MFT.
I may have missed it but can you confirm shipping costs and ETA to Mainland Uk, Central Scotland. FK postcode?
If it's easier send me over a shipping container full of them and I'll easily sell them here for you and send back the proceeds! [big grin]
Thanks and well done on what appears to be a great product.
Scott
Scott:
Until the end of July shipping is free to international as well as US purchasers for their own use to help give this new product market exposure. We do not plan to extend free shipping to orders received after July 31. There are no plans to sell through dealers in the US or overseas in the foreseeable future.

All ordered, paid and already received follow up email from Klemm.
Great service and can't wait to receive it and it it to the "frontline".

[member=2575]thudchkr[/member] - that square is from the first round of that particular OTT, 2013-ish. Great tool, I have both the 450mm and 300mm versions and they get used quite a bit.

we have had several requests for spare 8-32 x.375 Imperial Screws to be included with the tool shipment.
The logistics of including after the launch of production with customers waiting for their tool seemed counterproductive. We shipped all the tools without extra screws to avoid delay.
TO begin with we are wondering why someone would want a spare part before  there is any evidence of need - and especially in light of the likelihood that no one will remember where they placed two small screws several years before the need arises - if it ever arises.

We think the best thing is for customers who need a spare part to contact us and we will provide it expeditiously if and when a need arises. For overseas customers it is possible they would also need a 9/64" Allen hex wrench - an item which we can buy for a little under $ 2.00 each plus shipping to us..

We are really gratified by the acceptance of our new tool and look forward to hearing from all of you with ideas, suggestions and concerns as we continue to  improve our offerings.
Look for the GRS-16 PE tool with Parallel Edges to be announced later in August including a special offer for buyers of the Standard GRS-16 before the PE version became available.

That makes perfect sense to me and I have no problem with that. I also have no intent on removing the clamp for any reason! [wink] [big grin]

In markets like Oz, we still have access to imperial threads and tools in the engineering space.

What was the woodpecker square like, any links?

Edit. Just done a sesrch and found it.

[member=61691]TSO_Products[/member]

Is it possible to incorporate a way to cut a 45° mitre on the new parallel  square as it would be useful. Just a thought☺

[member=59331]TSO Products[/member] Is there a way get "faster" shipping (for a fee) within the US?

The woodpecker square is not really any different in pricipal to the dewalt and now triton rail square. I have the multiangle version but it was not easy getting accurate setting on it for 90°. I suppose that was the downside to buying the multiangle one. I shall be putting that on ebay.
