Folks,

There are a bunch of Members of this Forum who do not

list their location. You may think this is unimportant, but it sure

helps when giving suggestions.

I know, big scary internet, privacy concerns and all that,

but whats wrong with say, right side of Canada? Bottom of her Majesty's Island?

Utah?

Really, all woodworking is regional, so are methods of construction,

that is until the advent of the internet, which has greatly improved some off

my techniques.

A general location would go a great way in clearing things up.

Matt, feel free to move this to a more appropriate spot if you must.

Come on guys/gals go fix your profiles.

Thank you

I added Woodstock IL USA to the personal remarks today.

I agree Per, things are done differently here than down in Fla, anything to do with home building especially. Even how to deal with hardwoods can be dependent by the climate where we live.

I agree, Per.  I added my location a few months ago to the personal text in Profile based on Matthew's suggestion.

  Right Vijay,

Basically I have just been clicking on profiles if a thoughtful

comment is needed, you would be amazed how many of those are blank.

Per,

Excellent point.  Standards and practices, availability of tools and materials, warranty coverage, etc., etc.  All can depend on your location.    What is trivial for me in Washington State may be difficult in Oregon and easy in the UK.  But it does set your perspective.

Regards,

Dan.

Hey Per, you been reading my mind from up there in Denville???  It's one of my peeves too.  In fact, I sent Matt a PM about this very thing about a month ago, but I guess he didn't think it too important.

I did that last week at your request. Also put a picture of my daughters feet as we went under a bridge that divides you and I.

Hey Bill,

I fixed it for you in the Quote.

And Folks that would be the George Washington bridge.

I worded it like that, just to be corrected.
Sorry,  thats the Veranzano bridge which would join us a little further south.

Dan,

I find that whatever is hard at my location is easy anywhere else.

I am a member of a very large golfing forum in the states 4GEA (For golf equipment aficionados). It really is a great comunity. It is run in a really good way including a dungen for religious and political threads...you only get access to it if you ask...very sensible.

I find that forums are invaluable ways of learning about things...quickly. If I need to know how to do something I search for forums on the relevant topic...you then get links personal opinions ideas from people all over the world. Global communications are to coin a phrase "AWESOME" for this reason! :)
