A review of the iPad geared towards contractors

Thanks Ron.

I've had it for over a year now and I have no real complaints other than there is so much software out there, and the urge is to want to change constantly.

I will really have to start using for marketing more than I have in the past.  That was a great review on This is Carpentry also.

there are a lot of apps for the ipad.

which apps do you guys use for roofing and stairs?

thanks, justin.

I use the construction master app, it's currently an iPhone only app so you have to use it small or hit the 2x for the iPad!

thanks bob.

i dont own an ipad yet, but i am researching construction software for it.

i have been reading about vela systems.

has anyone used this software and how much does it cost?

thanks, justin.

Has anyone run into a good app to print off of the iPad?  I have the printer set up wireless so that isbnot a problem.
Thanks
JJ

i use AirprintActivator - it's a free utility.  I tried several of the paid apps and found they were not that reliable.

With any of them, you need a mac or windows machine that you 'print through' - AirprintActivator installs the right files on the mac and then you delete and reinstall the printers and turn sharing on for the printers and in the Sharing Control panel.

You can install on a desktop or notebook - but the machines need to be on the same wireless network as the iPad so it prints through them as the print server.

You can google AirprintActivator for the file download.

Thanks for that info. If you go for the v2 beta it is even better.
