Hi, This is my first post on the site so please go easy on me.

The pictures attached are of the last job I did for a Scottish government TV commercial, promoting the use of roof insulation. The set was made from MDF and the tiles were cut to the exact size of a Scottish twenty pound note. There were ?6,000 on the roof in the end and I had to have a security guard with me as I secured them to the tiles through the night before the shoot day!
The Kapex was amazing on this job and made light work of the tiles along with the parallel guides and TS55 (my first purchase and still my favourite), all of which were spot on.
During the shoot some of the money had to float away to reveal a strong light and the rafters below.

welcome to the forum mate.
whats the craic?

i'm surprised more of them 20 pound notes didn't float away permanently!

regards, justin.

Thanks for the welcome, I've spent allot of time on here learning new tip and tricks so it's good to finally dive in.

I was amazed that none of them went missing. I had to work through the night to get them on in time as they didn't turn up until the evening before the shoot day. The Guard was laughing because I didn't count the money to check it was all there before I started fixing them on. Strangely I was so focused on getting the job done that I didn't really think of it as actual money, just another material. There were a couple of times in the night when I was up the ladder putting them on the guard snuck up on me as a joke and I spilt the notes all over the place.

I was relieved when it all added up as it would have been taken out of my fee.

Welcome to the FOG,
That looks like a really fun project.  I know what you mean about the kapex. Such an accurate & easy to use saw.  The ts55 was also my first Festool purchase & still my favorate, but the sanders are coming close  [smile]
What part of Scotland are you from ? Look forward to more of your projects,

Woodguy.

Sounds like a good line of work to get into.  Your new workshop sounds good, everybody here likes to look at pics of other workshops  ;)

Thanks for sharing, Woodguy.

Always sounds like a good business to get into. I live right near Shepperton film studios and have always wondered about getting in to film set building but all I ever hear from people I know in that business is that you have to have family in it already it seems the jobs are passed down.
