I was doing a video yesterday for my nieces & nephews for 'a day in the life' thread they have running on Facebook, showing me cutting some trim.  Turns out I made a pretty good demonstration of the Kapex's dust collection (by total accident).

The first cut was with no dust collection, second cut connected to a Fein Turbo III vacuum with the dust deputy cyclone. Cuts were 45 degree bevels, 10 foot Fein 2 1/2" hose.

Neat video. The dust collection on my Kapex is a non-scientific 80%. My old miter saw was about 20%. Couldn't use it indoors.

I noticed you let the blade stop before lifting it. That's excellent practice. I learned the hard way (no injury, just a scare) that lifting the head with the blade still running can throw a piece of wood pretty hard.

Good video. I find pushing the saw through the material vs. The chop saw method makes the collection better too.

Are those three dowel holes for joining to the next board to ensure alignment?  How did you make them straight on such a long piece?

In retrospect sliding would have been the better method (according to the supplemental manual, too). Thanks for pointing that out.
Yes, the dowel holes were intended for alignment. In fact I didn’t end up using the dowels, but the joint was strong enough to move and install just with glue.  It was a 12 footer joined to a a foot and a half piece.
