Accessory holder for CT SYS

I did some sanding of some fascia boards this weekend.  I used the ETS EC 125 connected to the CT SYS.  I slung the CT SYS over my shoulder as I climbed a ladder.  I had to hold the sander in my hand as I climbed.  Does anyone make some type of device for the CT SYS which allows the sander to hang while you climb the ladder?  It would need to work as the CT SYS is slung over a shoulder.  Any ideas on how to do this safely is appreciated.

If you search the web for "tool lanyards" you should find plenty of options. Stuff that attaches to your belt or a harness or your wrist (not a good option for climbing though). After viewing some of the available options you might find one you can use to attach the sander to the CY-SYS when climbing.

Do you work with the CT-SYS over your shoulder or is it there just while climbing. I know how heavy they are (or aren't) as I have one. Just thinking it would be less stressful and give you more freedom of movement to hang the CT off the ladder once you reach the place where you're working. You might find a tool lanyard that would work for that too.

A lanyard, string, baling twine or even a butchers' hook will help secure your sander to your person, and the vac to the ladder/scaffolding once you're up there.

Both tools feature loop handles suited for securing or suspending during transport or operation.  I'd probably disconnect & lose the operationally superfluous hose garage for mobile operation to reduce overall bulk.

When I work on a ladder with a sander I always braid the sander + hose + cord through two or three sports at the point where I work. This will make sure the sander can not fall to the ground.

Generally I leave the Midi vac on the ground and connect a 36 and a 27 hose together which I tape along the side of the ladder.

In a few cases where I didn't have the extra hose with me, I have suspended the Midi in the air hanging it with a cargo strap between the handle of the vac and a sport of the ladder.

Thanks for the advice.  I keep the vac over my shoulder as I sand. You have me thinking to attach it to the ladder once I have reached the height.

I tried a longer hose with the vac on the ground, but I lost too much suction.

You mean like a bungee cord or length of #12 electrical wire? I'm all for spending money on tools but come on.
