Hey guys has anyone used Acme Tools as an online retailer?  I have not used them before and was wondering if anyone has had a good/bad experience with the company.  I need a couple of bandsaw blades and Acme has them on sale on their website.
Much thanks
Michael

Plenty.  They’re great.

They have some good sales around various holidays...10-15%, even 20% off an item.  Get on their email list.

All the time.  I’ve found their customer service to be very good.  I had a problem with a Milwaukee tool, they shipped out another asap, and let me test the two side by side and return the one I didn’t want.  No extra charge on my CC, no stipulation that I need to return the first tool, no nonsense.  In a separate incident I had placed an order on Black Friday, they had a better deal offered on Cyber Monday, and after calling they offered to refund the difference.  They didn’t have to, but I was happy they did.

Only problem I had with them was a damaged box of Granat abrasive. The rest of my order was fine.

A friend’s Dad out west seems to spend a lot of money with Acme. Doubt he would do that if they’re horrible.

Thanks for all the responses that’s great to here.  They have a saw that I like too but having never used them, apprehension always gets the best me.

I visit Acme at least once a month. They’re a great group to deal with. Especially when they have an open house. At open houses they have a multitude of tool deals to offer. The last one was a 5” Milwaukee Fuel brushless, cordless grinder with an 18V battery for $125. They also special order most any tool.

Acme = Tool Crib of the North...their old moniker.

While I don't live anywhere near Cheese, I'm in Central PA, I've also been buying from them since they where Tool Crib.  They have always been great.  Their old catalogs were as addicting as Festools in the day.  It was the gateway drug to tools most people did not know existed.  My pressure washer is one of theirs and is 30+ years old...Honda motor of course.

Acme was one of the original advertisers in a new magazine called Fine Woodworking, back when it was published in black ink on white paper.seems like they have the business model figured out.

I have bought from Acme more than a few times. Although Cheese needs to step up and let us know when the Fuel grinders at the special sale are happening ;)

For now though here are a few coupons for Acme.

I bought all of my Bosch Lboxxes from Acme Tools almost 2 years ago.  I got 10% off for Memorial Day and free shipping.  I'm super happy with them.

Ya, I just went there to check out some Festool stuff and walked into a Milwaukee display. Walked out with Milwaukee stuff and nothing with the Festool name on it...that was a first.  [eek]

I love my Festool systainers and have 90+ with a vast assortment of makers tools contained.  That being said I bought a new 12v impact driver from Acme as it came in the new small packout and also bought another with the bins.  I'm intending to buy the wheeled packouts for site work as they are really tough looking.

I have an Acme tool store in my town.  Downtown.  Agree with the prior person saying they used to be Tool Crib of the North.  In my town there were two tool stores.  On the same street about 1/4 mile apart near downtown.  Odd they were so close to each other considering my town area is about 20 miles by 20 miles in size.  Anyway, this store had another name long ago.  Then became Tool Crib.  Then Acme.  And now changed locations too.  And the other competitor is no more.  Acme carries Festool tools on the shelf when I visit.  Can play/handle them in person.  And lots and lots of other tools too.  Sawstop table saws too.  I've only bought a few small things from them over the years.

Interesting about the whole TCN/Amazon backstory.  I guess that's why all of a sudden around 2010/2011 I said, "Hey look at this great online tool store I didn't know about!"

LOVE AcmeTools. I've spent many thousands through them. They are definitely my go to, especially when they do their 10-15% off coupons!

I have one of their local stores just a little over a mile from the house. Have been buying tools from there since the local store opened. I will occasionally order from their online presence as well. Oftentimes I can get it quicker that way than having the local order it in for me. If time is not important, I typically order the item  through my local store where they pretty much know me, (and Roo), by name. I’ve had them even do price matching on items others are offering more cheaply, such as the orange big box in town. They’ve also price matched internet prices on occasion as well. There have been many times I don’t hesitate to pay a little more for an item from them because their service is worth so much to me.

They are also a servicing center for most of their tool lines. They offer blade sharpening services, but I feel there are others that provide better service on my carbide blades.

Free shipping from their online ordering at $100 means most of our tool purchases qualify. I’m sure most here will be happy with what they have to offer.
