Guys used my mates 420 today he's had it for a couple of months but hasn't used it much. We didn't take much kit to site and ended up clamping a level to use as a straight edge the blade ended up trashed wtop undercut. Tried again same result then checked underneath the guide block with the torx screw was no where near central adjusted it and cut a lot better.
We had adjusted the blade guide before cutting.
Even though it cut better it still seemed like we were cutting out of line with the base and blade.
Any tips on adjusting it for good set up

Start watching around the 0:45 mark.

Shane the problem was the piece with the torx screw in it that was pushing the blade out was wondering if there was a way of making sure that was set up correctly

Not sure I understand what you're trying to explain. Do you have a photo? Or, have you contacted Festool service?

Shane,

I think he means that the whole of the blade guide is in the wrong position (left-to-right) rather than the guide being wrongly adjusted for thickness; it's off to one side, causing the blade to be pushed sideways & bending it so the cut isn't 90 degrees.

Andy,

The guide is attached by just one screw, which goes up into the main body of the saw. I would suggest:
1. loosen that screw;
2. fit as stiff a blade as you have available, and then run the saw for a second or two to make sure the blade is properly seated and the guide is aligned with the blade;
3. tighten the screw again.

The reason I know this is I had to do this to mine a couple of weeks ago - for some reason the fixing screw had somehow worked loose & I noticed the guide was just floating about!

I would post a picture, but my Carvex is in the van & I'm too lazy to go & fetch it... [embarassed]
