I want to know if anyone has had success airbrushing a high quality acrylic latex semigloss to built cabinetry on site after installation ?

I've had excellent success spraying latex semigloss and waterbased lacquer with my 4 stage Capspray HVLP. I'm looking for an excellent way to touch up cabinets and builtins after install . I could always use the Preval system, but I feel that if I tried airbrushing I could spay in touch ups. Any feed back will be appreciated.

You actually meant an airbrush airbrush.  Never thought of that.  With the fine tips I would worry about thinning enough to get flow.  I guess that I could get mine out and try...

You have more power than i have! I have to thin latex so much that the sheen/finish is never right.I don't spray that much this days.As far as touch up,i have used those small gravity cup sprayer but never tried latex.

I don't really know if the water based stuff in Europe is latex or not, but I succesfully spray Farrow and Ball waterbased eggshell (satin) finish with a Fuji 4 stage and am still a novice.  The paint is very expensive, but so good that the latest built ins I finished today I painted in situ with a roller.  I told the client that the finish wouldn't be as good, but he seems guite happy.  I have successfully touched up sprayed stuff with a roller, but then my standards may not be in the same league as price is often an issue here (Normandy people have a reputation for being "careful" with their money  ;) )

I like the idea of airbrushing, but have never used one.  I would be interested to hear any more comments.

Regards,
Richard.
