I am installing glass railings in my new house. I have a bunch of CR Lawrence extremely beefy aluminum shoe tracks that will hold the 9/16” glass panels in place at the floor. I need to make very accurate cuts in the base shoe $760/10’ piece and then the trim finish skins that are about the same price so can’t afford any screw ups.

I do have a Ellis1600 horizontal band saw which is great for cutting metal pieces I weld together but the angle guide isn’t quite as exact as I would like for this project.

I’m thinking of using my Kapex to make the cuts but these U Chanel pieces 1” or more thick.

Anybody have a blade recommendation for the Kapex. Will need to make 25+ cuts so probably burn through a few blades.

Finish product look just going with a satin black not stainless finish to look less commercial.

Thanks.

Get the Festool aluminum blade for the Kapex, it works really well. Let the saw do the work, there is a color chart on the Kapex for blade speed, there is aluminum blade is blue banded.

If you don’t want to invest in the Festool blade make sure you get one with a negative hook.
