Am i crazy?

Funny I'm half wondering if it was a waste of money. I can see myself ending up running the machine with no guard?

The couple times i used a euro guard the walk around thing or lack of ability to do so drove me nuts.

I think the comfort guard will be the perfect solution?

Very good choice on the euro comfort guard.  When I bought felder machine  I never thought of it.  I wish I had it does my head in having the guard sticking out winds me up.

Always been thinking of getting it just never got round to it.

I was thinking of removing my guard but when I have the entire blade exposed and plane a 30mm piece I feel little vulnerable. 

So when the day comes I get fed up with my guard I'll get the euro comfort.

I just got my AD941 and can tell you a pallet jack will not easily move it.  They tell you to put some bolts into the back from the inside of the frame that extend out the back and these bolts rest on the fork of the pallet jack and the other fork goes under the frame.  But when I raise the pallet jack the whole thing tips onto the front of the machine (i have a narrow fork pallet jack)  For the little I move my machine around I do this and put those magic slider things under the front edge of the machine to slide it around.  Not ideal and not the best but it works.

With my AD941 I got the 432-60034 hinged auxiliary fence for narrow stock.  Basically a rebadged Aigner product.

One of the tricks when moving the AD941 or AD741 is to use a narrow pallet jack and lift the tables into the planer position, takes load off the front and makes for an easier more stable move. The euro comfort guard is nice addition.

The only woodwork machine that I've had a potentially serious injury with was a 6" planer that I didn't have completely guarded. My left index finger has only ¾ of a fingerprint. I was not careful enough but lucky, and happend to live not far from the best neurosurgery hospital in the UK at the time.
Please don't ever run your planer (US translation "jointer") machines without a guard.

Hammer not an example of quality.
Felder, if will not have manufacturing defects, will work for a long time.

As much as i am eager to take deliver i need as many pay checks as possible between now and then to pay for the thing

I quite understand as I guess I'm vaguely saving for the same machine.
