Is there a way to determine where a shipment originates from on Amazon?

The remote I ordered is taking longer than I expected.

When I tracked it today it says the carrier is “Yanwen”, which reads to me like a foreign shipping company.

Is there a way to determine before placing the order where the product ships from?

The updates are pointedly vague.

“Left shipper”, “arrived at carrier facility”, “being processed”, “left carrier facility”.

Only today did I see a clue (“Yanwen”) that the product was shipping from overseas.

There were three vendors stating that their remote was compatible with my AC.  Maybe one of them shipped from Amazon.  If I knew that, I probably would have made a different choice.

Sold by ___ Ship by _____

1) Ship by Amazon - usually by one of their warehouses.  Should specify expected day.  If it's an import, then you're subject to longer delays thanks to (expedited) custom.  Weather does impact inter-warehouse shipping.

2) Anyone else - don't take the estimate at face value.

I did not look when I placed my order, but I see now that the promised delivery date is August 26th.

The other than that, not a clue: “Ships from Amazon”

Does the "track package" window display a tracking number?  This is usually somewhere if item is not being delivered by Amazon proper.

You might be able to copy the tracking number into the actual shipper's (China Post, Orange Connex etc) tracking app to get a better idea of location.
