Another cutting table

nice set up but why the clear plastic. he was only showing  off with this . very strong table though.

I think the idea is good but the table does cannot support a whole sheet and looks a bit low

for the price of another half sheet it could be taller and larger at minimal cost .

I like the design.  I will properly be making one my self I think with some alterations though.  Mainly with the legs. Properly make them with some timber with ply bracing

Having a good bench set up on a job is very important I use my MFT for medium size sheets but its no good for full sheets.

It looks slightly low yes but it looks to me that you could easily get a full sheet on it my cutting table is about 3ft x 6ft and works fine you dont actually need an 8 x 4 table.

you dont have to have a full sized cutting table
but for the way I work I find it more efficient having a 4 by 8 table ( if theres space )
There is less chance of the off cut falling off and most times there is not enough space on a table as it is

I don't like putting my tools on the floor, normally i have my ts55 out with a jig saw, router and a domino
Most of the case work i do is 600 deep so the more space the better

also some were to put my cordless, the nail gun glue and screws.

If the room is large enough one side of the table is for track saw/assembly and the other for the miter saw.

A full sized table also helps when making your own moldings

I guess if you have a 3 by 6 table you could always put a full sheet on and then work off that but in the past ive done that and had problems placing heavy case work on the table and the table tilting .

When working with thin sheets on a smaller table they dip down and you don't always cut the whole way through.

but anyway thats just my opinion

Did you happen to notice the 4'x8' sheet of lexan plywood laying on top of the table?    [huh]

I dont only have a 6 x 3 table (might be bigger I dont remember) I have loads as I work on site mostly and private houses if I need 8 x 4 then I lay an 8 x 4 down first and work on that, simple. I too have all the tools you mention and like to be organized when Im working so Im often surrounded with benches and tables [big grin]

If you check back at the above link the original poster has been kind enough to post some detailed drawings I might even build one myself. [big grin]
