Any downsides to using old ATF55 on new MFT/3 track?

I have an old ATF55 saw with a couple 1400 (non-/2) rails that have worked great for the last 15 years or so. I was thinking of trying out the MFT/3 table, and wondered if there were any downsides to using the old saw on the new rails. I know this may sound dumb, but I thought I read somewhere that there can be issues with the old base rubbing on the new rail strips. Something about the steel base causing wear, but again, I’m not positive, so I thought I’d ask you experts.

If you only have 1 saw, it won't matter if the steel base roughens the glidestrips up a bit. It's the magnesium (or whatever alloy they're made of) base of the newer saws that are more prone to wear. If it does happen, and you upgrade your saw to a newer model, the glidestrips are also available as a replacement part.

If you are concerned just linear-sand the ends of the saw to not "cut" into the strips and also oil it a bit (wipe after).

I did this to our non-Festool saws just to be sure. What can be an issue is if the saw base is too-rought or has sharp edges. The material does not matter otherwise.
