Any ideas for adding "non" stick coatings to glue up fixtures?

Hi,
I have been using pieces of wax paper as liner material when I am concerned that glue may cause a clamping fixture to stick to a work piece during glue up and assembly. The wax paper seems to peel away easily without hurting the wood.

I have been wondering; is there was some sort of non stick material that I can coat the fixtures with so I don't have to continually position or reposition the wax paper?

Maybe a tape? Maybe a coating?

How about the spray release agent used in making the forms for epoxy tables.
Never tried it myself...just a thought

I use packing tape all the time, right one and other wood glues will not stick to it. I just cover the clamping boards or jigs or whatever with it. Works great and is a quick cheap solution. It needs to be the clear transparent packing tape not the paper based kind.

Paste wax does OK, but it's not foolproof.

Butcher’s wax and Johnson’s bowling alley paste wax have always worked for me but the packing tapes works and is faster and there is zero chance of transfer of wax to the workpiece.

Some packing tape works better than others. 3M has a tape called “fast start” or something like that which has a slick surface that adhesives don’t stick to, not even the tape itself. Makes it annoying to wrap packages with since tape that overlaps other tape will come off so this is maybe it’s best use.

agree, if you are looking for a tape. Then simple packing tape works well. I keep a tape gun hanging on my wall just for woodworking projects.  Also use it for applying tape when miter folding. larger areas any type of polypropylene should work most glues wont stick to it.

Osmo works great.  Even better if you touch up with some paste wax once in a while.  Osmo penetrates really well so the glue can't get its teeth into the work surface.  An appropriate sized sheet of high gloss laminate works pretty great as well.
