Anybody tried the GRK FIN/Trim Head Screws?

All of my local lumber yards carry a large selection of GRK,

I wish that was the case here.  Only a couple seem to carry any, and the selections are very limited, at best.  To make it worse, some countermen don't check carefully, and when I get there to pick up what was said to be in stock, I find that they didn't ever have what I wanted.  Another wasted trip and an hour (or more) lost.

try emailing GRK and complaining about your local yards selection.

I did that a couple times and now they have everything.

Not sure where you are in NOVA.

When I was in Smoot Lumber last month, they now had a good selection of GRK. Didn't use to carry them that I recall. There was some small place waaaaay down Rt 1 that did, but I'm not sure if they do anymore (or are around)

Last time I was at Smoot's they didn't, but that was several years ago, so it's good to know that they're a potential supplier.  Thanks for that info.  Tart is my closest supplier, and generally a good one, and usually has what I need - except the GRKs.  TW Perry in Leesburg said they had the R4s and didn't.  For other things, they're pretty good if Tart or Sheets in Sterling don't have what I need.  Woodcraft in Leesburg or Springfield are decent, but don't carry GRKs.  They have a bunch of crappy, Chinese-made screws that snap off easily.

Darcy, I'll give your suggestion a whack.  Maybe Tart can be persuaded to carry a better selection.  Thanks for that.

And thanks to Seth for the link.  They're a good alternative in any case.

I don't remember Smoot carrying them before. Which was how I wound up trekking down Rt 1. I think they must be carrying some new gear lately. Seemed to be an improved hardware/tool section from what they used to have.

You might also try these guys in Frederick. If you are out in Leesburg, they might be the closest to you. https://www.carlsonsystems.com/

I always use the Heco screws, I still think they are the best, never snapped a single one!
But GRK looks like they make decent suff though.
