Anyone had experience with this German cutter?

Seems like something designed for the PC, nanny society.

I can see where it would be useful in a warehouse environment.  I worked there once.  We used the flat box cutters with the blade that slides out of the sheath, and back in when done cutting.  We more or less had that cutter in our hands most of the day.  Constantly cutting and sliding the blade in and out.  You had to cut open boxes on the shelves, grab product out of the box.  So you did not want an exposed blade when you were grabbing products in between opening boxes.  This device might make it easier and quicker and safer to cut and grab.  But not as easily stored as the flat box cutters which fit easily into pockets.

Not direct experience but a workmate has had to work on sites where that type of knife was the only ones allowed.
He detests them with a passion but I can't remember why.

I've worked on job sites where we were made to use this type of knife - they are an absolute nuisance because you lose fine positional control of the blade in favour of a firm grip. Also they don't work at all well with hooked blades, etc, For a tradesman they are NBG
