Anyone have Seneca Clamp Dogs?

I'm looking at these things trying to figure out if they're one piece or two pieces (like the dog end screws into the plate).  Anyone have them and/or know?

I noticed it while I was browsing in the sight - how did they machine the chamfer tightly around the dog shaft?  Two pieces I get it, one...challenging.

I have some and they are definitely one piece.

Absolutely no idea. But like everything Seneca, they ooze quality.

Yup, those are nice units.  On the list.

Yet one of the features I liked about the Precision clamp mounts is the clamp locating dogs are removable giving me two more to my collection if needed, for a total of six. *shrugs*

The Seneca mounts look nice :)

I have a Kreg clamp and only use a threaded screw through the table top. I don't see a benefit to the Seneca Clamp Dogs.

I think the longer base helps reduce the torque on the busing in the hole and this helps reduce damaging the hole itself.

OK you convined me. I made one, used a broom handle that was 20mm after I sanded it down a bit.

Ya, that setup I had wasn't great. I'd show you a pic but I can't load pictures anymore. I don't know what happened to that process.

Sorry,  I did not have the cash to buy one.  I made my own.  A dowel sanded down to 20mm,  20mm hole in 3/4" ply, with 5/16 hanger bolt in the center of the dowel with a fender washer and a  knob.  I also glued and pinned the dowel into the hole.  Finlay a 5/16 T-bolt cut down, and recessed into the bottom for the kreg clamp.

By flipping the hanger bolt and the clamp, you can use it on the side rails a well.

That's cool!  It never even occurred to me to make them out of wood.  Guess I now know that wood or phenolic is strong enough.  Thanks for sharing.
