Anyone heard of or used the Jawhorse or the Superjaw?

WARNING OF TOPIC RANT

Fitst sentence in the review "I?ve written about the Rockwell Jawhorse several times but I hadn?t yet had the chance to use it. Well that all changed when the folks from Rockwell Tools sent me the Rockwell Jawhorse to use and review."

Why the HeII are  you writing about something you have never touched.  I hate the trade press for doing this kind of Crap, Then unsuspecting folks believe what these ignorant, arrogant authors, who have never even touched it in the field, dream up on their word processors, and purchase a tool based on that.

END rant

The above rant has nothing to do with this product which may be a great tool

It's funny Craig, but that first sentence can't be seen anymore. :D

What is less funny is this blatant deception people nowadays make when calling their sales pitch a "review". This article is NOT a review. It only tells what the jawhorse can do in theory and what the manufacturer thinks it is suitable for. It is in no way an honest review where the reviewer actually uses the device in practice and thus can find out its good things and its flaws.

It's just a sales pitch.

It's rather frustrating how people do this all the time on the net these days. I've recently been looking around for a good computer monitor and therefor want to read reviews which one is best suited for my needs. Unfortunately, when you Google for 'monitor brand X review' 99% of the time I get taken to a sales website where they 'review' the monitor by only stating the same features you can find on the manufactures website.

Never seen or heard of this thing, now I think I must have one. Seems like the perfect tool to keep my MFT3 in the shop for small repair/install jobs. As soon as I saw this I thought of making a plate/table for it. I'm thinking of an 18 or 24 w x 36 or 48"L 3/4 cdx or mdf top mounted to probably a 1'+ piece of 4x4. 3.5" looks to be the jaw depth. If I use a 4x4 or double 2x the top can also side on top of the jaws for more stability. I'm thinking such a set-up would work great with my 55" rail and the Trion used on the rail. Anyone tried this or have thoughts?
The next question to research of course, how much?

Alex.

It makes me just shake my head.  I just love pools of ignorance.....where no one has anything to say, and they are not bashful about sharing ;D ;D.
Once again this is not directed at this particular product just some who have written about it with out ever using it.

Markus,

I saw one of those Jawhorses at Menards out by me, looked ok, but they didn't have the extensions for the 4' ply.  You might find one at a store closer to you. I think that Berlands may be carrying them also.
