Anyone use the Longlife filter bags

Me 2, you would mad not to, mine for the CT26 has its paid for its self quite quickly  I do think the fit in the tub is very strange I asked the festool rep to have a look at it
but he did not have any awnsers,Its just to long for the vacuum so you have to fold the thing over. So when its full and you take it out its only 2/3rds full [doh]
and one day when I have nothing better to do I will measure the contents as im sure it does not hold anything like 26 litres.

still....... much better than buying bags to put in landfill...

And if anyone knows why the bag is far to long for the tub please let me know.

I have had my Longlife filter bag for nearly 2 years now and it is still going strong. Sometimes I have opened it up and found small pieces of wood and even some metal  which would have gone write through the throw away bags. Honestly its one of my best festool purchases so far besides my CXS.

Another vote for Longlife Bags.

Absolutely essential buy. I've used mine for years, it's even tough enough to withstand hosing down with water once a month to get it really clean again.

Vital that you use a really good particle mask when emptying the thing though, especially if you have cut any MDF.

Also, good idea to regularly check the filters as well as, I suspect after a while, the long life bags don't trap as much fine (dangerous) dust as the paper bags do.

For those of you that use this bag, do you use it for everything and forgo the paper/fleece throw-away bags even when sanding, or do you typically only use it for planing and routing?  I filled two 22 bags yesterday alone in a session in my shop and I have been considering one of these.  The convenience of the throw-away is tough to beat, though...but it can add up quickly.  I know others have used the Dust Deputy with success too...

I use long life reusable for EVERYTHING! I think I have had mine for over 2 years now.

Sanding! -  Rotex 90 Rotex 150
Planing!    - EHL 65 and HL85
Routering! - OF2200
TS-ing!  55 and 75
Kapex-ing!
Domino-ing!

I think your silly if you dont own a Long life bag!  Especially if your planing !   Some people here on fog are against long life reusable!  BUT even still if you think for MDF or other harmful dust use disposable!  BUT atleast have a long life bag on hand for planing as planing fills bags up so quick well worth having just for that!

Thanks!
I only saw one review on Amazon and it was negative. I will be getting one with the Dust Deputy also.

Just got the CT26 this week and haven't even plugged it in yet. Guess if I bump it around and get it dirty I will be over the new thingy  lol. Just want the CT set up before I use it, I have 2 other vacs to abuse for a few more weeks.

My Porter Cable vac bags are pricey but no where near the Festool but I found that the Rigid 12-15 gal shop vac bags  fit (the Porter Cable) even though they are for a round can and works well.

Thanks for making this a post Seth.

I can't imagine using such a bag.  When you empty it, don't you get a cloud of dust in the air?

The Dust Deputy is bad enough, but at least you can line it with a Hefty bag so emptying it is fairly clean.

Well, yeah,  I hate dust!  -  but bags don't really cost all that much, and micro-dust (even from wood, is extremely dangerous.

I cannot understand your reasoning in getting both the long-life bag AND a Dust Deputy unless you plan on leaving the DD in the shop and taking the long-life on site.  What's up?    [huh]

OCD….nah just thought of I have the DD I can use it on my other Vac also, or if I do a small quick job I can leave the DD at home. I like options…maybe thats how and why I ended up here on the Festool Forum  [big grin]

I've used the same longlife bag on my CT22 vacuum for over 6 years and am quite happy with it.

When emptying the longlife bag, I open it upside down within a plastic garbage bag keeping the plastic fairly tight around the bag and experience little or no dust.

iv got the reusable bag for my ct22. i use it when on site when bringing my thein baffel is not an option (sometimes i use a disposable on site sanding etc. i use a disposable in the shop to catch that last fine bit of dust that gets through the baffel/.

I had my dust deputy for a few weeks before I bought my first ever Festool item the CT Mini.  Knowing that the Mini doesn't have LL filter bags I am gambling that the dust deputy allows the fleece bags to have long lives.
