Just used my OF2200 router for the first time and after putting it back in the box I looked at the vac hose and noticed the swivel dust port from the router must have popped off and was still attached to the hose. I thought no problem I'll just pop it back like the EHL65 planer sometimes does. I cant seem to get it back on properly, it looks like there's a couple of small nibs in the plastic. One seems to limit the rotation and the other looks like it should pop into a groove around the top of the vertical tube on the router. Ive tried pushing down as hard as i can but it doesn't seem to be fitting properly as it doesn't swivel freely like it did before. Ive even tried gently tapping it with a plastic mallet but I dont want to break anything.

If anyone has had this happen what did you do ??

I don't have the 2200 but below is a screen shot of the owners manual.  Looks like you might need to insert it extremely rotated.

Cheers Peter , yeah that's what I thought it has a swivel limit. I've tried lining the nib up with that and pushing it down but it's not clicking down.

@Phil Beckley is there a knack to it ??

Looping in [member=41214]Phil Beckley[/member] because the one above didn't look like it had tagged him correctly...

Cheers Garry didn't think it had , I'm using Tapatalk, think that might have messed it up.

I think he must be on holiday ;)

I might try unscrewing the whole tube off the router and try. Don't want to start bashing it while it's on the router , might crack the base

Hi
No holiday but a Sunday morning coffee in town in the sun

[member=1584]joiner1970[/member] I think that's a good idea.

Looking at the EKAT diagrams, and the photos in the supplemental manual, perhaps it needs to be re-attached at an orientation that you can't get to due to the body of the router getting in the way? Take the long extractor tube off by removing the screw from underneath and then see if you can get the angle piece back on.

Fingers crossed.

Exactly what I thought Garry.

Very odd it won't just pop back on as it looks so straight forward.

Cheers Phil enjoy your coffee :)

Just took it off and used a few bessey clamps to push it fully on. It's on but still as stiff as anything to rotate.

There's no way it would rotate freely like the other ones IE ehl65, ts55r.
