Are there plans for Festool to release a new Jigsaw?

I am very interested in picking up a Festool jigsaw but I thought I saw something a while ago that Festool will be releasing a new jigsaw.  True or am I imagining things?  ???

They just did - the 420 ... comes in cordless or mains and barrel or "D" handle (D handle has speed sensitive trigger).

The previous 400 had some issues (possibly isolated - I haven't experience them in terms of tracking accuracy).

Release of the CARVEX 400 never happened in the US. You're waiting on the 420.

It takes both the 15, 18 volt batteries - also the Protool batteries ... so mine can be whatever I want. It seems to have ample power with the 15's, I haven't cut back to back anything with the 15's then 18's in it yet so I can't advise on whether the cutting experience is significantly different with the 18's over the 15's.

I can't tell the difference with 14.4v or 18v batteries with my carvex 420.  I use my 18v protool batteries and 18v festool batteries and my 14.4v festool batteries in my carvex and honestly power whise feels identical!!  I thought when I got some 18v batteries my carvex would super charge lol nope!  Stays the same!

Im sure 18v last longer but not sure because I cut such a variety of materials with the jigsaw which will drain the batteries more or less that I don't know how much longer 18v one last.    Only way to test would be to keep cutting same materials with both batteries.

One thing I will say I'm pretty sure 18v protool batteries don't last as long as the festool 18v batteries!

Are the Protool !8's you have 3.0's or 2.6's ?

With a price difference of about 30 Euro between the 15v and 18v I guess I'll go for the 18v then.  [smile]

Just curious with the battery power -- how long do the batteries typically last?  I know that it depends on the materials being cut, but just trying to get a sense of how long they last on a charge?  We know that Festool drills can last a long time on a charge and I am trying to quantify it for a jigsaw if that makes sense.  Can you get significant use out of a charge or is it a handful of cuts and the battery drains and off to the charger?
