While I don't yet have a 700 it is next on my list of Festool tools to acquire along with the shelf pin drilling set and perhaps the router guide rail sets MFS. With a little luck I may get one in the next week or two. After looking at the 700 and playing around with it a bit at the local Woodcraft I have high expectations for it. I like the variable speed, ease of changing bases and real fine adjustability with dust collection. This is in comparison to the PC outfit and a couple other laminate trimmers I have today. I see it as being powerful enough for many dado, grooving and rabbeting tasks and stable enough for many edge routing tasks too. I also think it will work well with my dovetail jigs without being a handful to balance on the jigs. Bottom line is I think it will be a most versatile router package. So, I guess I would say to go for it.
Best,
Todd
