Interior versus Exterior glue? Darker glue line for darker woods?
How many linear feet or meters is 1 puck supposed to glue up for a nominal width edgeband?
Thanks, I watched the video on the system, totally beats other methods... [tongue] [tongue] [tongue]
Afaik its for darker or lighter materials.
Regarding the contouro. Imho it has a major flaw in that it cant do 3mm solid edging and just only just about manages 2mm solid edging due to the bend the rollers impart on the edge being used. If you are only doing 1mm edging or the more flexible pvc its not an issue.
To that end, you probably wouldn't be using an iron for 3mm solid edging either as an alternative to the KA65. The machine is definitely designed for a purpose. Other techniques are destined for different applications. I don't find it as a "flaw"....it's just not designed for solid edging, and makes no claim to the contrary.
As for the colors. Yes, the white is designed for white, or very light colored banding, while the tan is for darker edging.
I have been told that Festool plans on introducing additional colored glue pucks in the near future...just so long as Pink is not one of them! [scared]
I have no idea how many linear feet a single glue puck will last for, but I CAN say that the demo I went to (and made the Silly Video below of myself on my first try with the machine) didn't even put a dent in the puck during a LOT of banding. The machine has a self cleaning feature that insures that you don't have gobs of glue mucking up the system when you're done either... and you don't have to remove the remaining puck to clean it.
Cheers,
