Availability of ETS EC sanders

I have purchased an ETS EC 125/3 sander in December 2020 and sadly it was one of those with the issue. I have spoken to several dealers and I hear that the earliest would be September, October, November. At first my dealer told me 30 weeks from when they ordered it but it kept getting pushed back.

My question is I have been without a Festool sander (which is what I want) for over 5 months now and it might be as long as a whole year. Should I hold out till September or so to get my hands on hand or look for alternatives.

I have an ETS EC 125/3 which I very much like using, an added bonus being it will also take the 150 pads. It's a great machine, but another 5-6 months is a long time to be without a tool if you need it. If you can mange without it without it causing too much pain and you are invested in the Festool 'system' I'd wait, but if you need a sander in that form factor now I would personally buy a Mirka Deros and get on with your life and work. The Mirka will likely hold at least 75% of it's value on the used market too, so if you are really hankering after the Festool when they become available you could sell the Mirka at that point to fund the ETS EC.
