Azek for shop jigs?

I have a nice pile of Azek scraps for a recent porch remodel. Has anyone used it for making shop jigs? I figure it would be nice for aux. ts fence, drill press and bandsaw fences, etc.

Jim, the thing that comes to mind right away is the thermal expansion and contraction of Azek might cause accuracy issues.

Yeah,  I was wondering that myself.  I can see some gaps that open in the morning and close in the afternoon.  But this is over 18 ft.  span.  Also,  in the shop the temperature is more constant.  I think it would be ok for aux fences.  It sure is nice and flat.

I only use scrap AZEK for router patterns, much easier to smooth edges compared to other materials. 

I have also used AZEK to make perfect symetrical patterns, following these steps (Domino Jointer Required)

1. Cut 2 identical pieces of AZEK - Long Edge & Common Center "Square"
2. Using double sided tape (turners tape) align & stack
3. Mark & Cut the pattern shape
4. Sand edges - "Spindle Sander works very well"
5. Seperate stack
6. Align both pieces on flat surface at the common center &  Mark reference point on each piece
7. Using Domino Jointer cut alignment slot at reference point on each piece
8. Join the two sides together with a Domino/s
9. Done - you now have a perfectly symetrical pattern

Jim,  That's interesting.    I would be hesitant to use azek in patterns and templates like router mortising templates.  Do you ever notice any instances where the thermal expansion affects the patterns?

Never had an issue, I only use a spiral cut patterning bit with a bearing.
