Banned/Restricted Members

            Good Question, Matthew can remove our accounts and leave our content in tact if he wishes, I have no problem with leaving my content here, it does not amount to much anyway.

Good Afternoon,
If I delete someone's account, the posts still remain intact.  The reason Rick's posts disappeared is because he went through them all one by one and deleted the content himself.

I almost never delete people's accounts, because once that happens if they change their minds they must create a whole new account under a different user name.  Instead, if people wish to no longer take part in the forum they can just stop participating.  I've been part of many forums where, at some point, I stop participating.  I've never felt the need to write to the forum owner and ask that my account be deleted.  Certainly, I've never posted publicly to the forum announcing my desire to have my account deleted!

If you don't want to be part of the FOG, you don't need to have your account deleted, and you don't need to announce that you're leaving.  Just leave.

I hope that addresses the most recent false controversy created by the TF team.  I also hope we don't have to hear from the subtle antagonizers who feel the need to "just ask a question" or tell me how I'm sending "mixed signals" about this.

Barry, obviously you believe very little of what I have said here, and I can live with that. You don't know me, so you have no idea about my ethics.

A simple mistake? There's little to suggest that. But if that is the case it can be rectified with the pressing of a few a buttons. Then all of us will be happy.

I dont' think I contributed anything of above average importance here, but Matthew is welcome to leave it all where it is. Just DELETE MY ACCOUNT PLEASE!

What should be the effective difference between deleting your account, and simply not posting any more?

If you are worried about backsliding into this den of iniquity, one technique that might work is to go to the password screen, close your eyes, type some garbage, and update your password to something you don't know. Then you won't be able to log in again.

Ron, what I was hoping for was pretty simple, just to have my name pulled off the active member list. And I can see now that that's not going to happen. 

I know that when members decide not to participate here anymore, the simple thing to do is just leave, but then few will ever get their names pulled out of the database and posted on the front page as a banned or restricted person, MONTHS after they've already left.

I haven't visited this site since last June, and I can see now that I should have left it that way. The last few days have been nothing more than a big lesson in frustration.

Your idea of me sabotaging my own password is very creative, but I don't think I'll have to go that far to keep myself out of here.  ;)

By the way, I've always thought very highly of this forum and most of the members in it, and I've never said anything to the contrary, anywhere or at any time. And I truly hope it continues to flourish.
 
Ok...so it is not a mistake then...Matthew just cleared that up...it's just a case of "It just doesn't work like that here"

You've already expressed publicly how there is absolutely no way you will return here. Did you not like it here?  ....I guess this will just give you one more thing not to like about it...

What am I supposed to believe?  Your words about Matthew playing a cat and mouse game are an opinion...something to agreee or disagree with...not something to believe or not believe...and  it was "conclusive"...your opinnion..in your own words

We will "ALL BE HAPPY" when all of the protest forum junkies stop breaking up with us! How many alternate endings do we have to watch?

Admin is treating you here.  It's that simple.

Bob, Yes, I think you already know that I directed that towards you.  In past I had enjoyed reading your posts but I am totally disappointed in your posts here.  It is my opinion that you did yourself disservice with your mockery of this site and the Admin.  If Matthew says you were never banned, I ask where is your proof of that which warranted your attack here?  Should I see evidence of foul play towards you as you have claimed, my apologies would be forthcoming.

I absolutely disagree with that. In my opinion anyone for whatever reason who wishes to permanently end their relationship with this or any other forum should have their wishes complied with by the owner/admin/mod.

I've read this statement a couple of times, trying to predict what the next scandal is that TF people will accuse me of.  Some sort of database manipulation?  I can't really tell.

Matthew, Please lock this thread, then we can all go back to using Festools and leave the computer alone for at least a day or two
 
If you have ever heard Wayne Dyer recite the story of a cookie thief...then I can certainly relate to you...for no matter how right we think we are....there is always that possibility that we could indeed be wrong....if we are in the dark...for all we know...we could be kissing our own mother and we may never know it....I will take your advice and keep my eyes..and mind open...

Certainly I did not drag you into this...you were wallering around in this mud for a while...and the remarks were largely what dragged ME into it...

As far as disparaging...I was referring to the remarks about how much the forum was worth...like 20 bucks...

unless of course you were only joking....

 
i was going to post a response to this drivel, but have decided to limit myself in future to the following statement.

Please do not respond to this thread, we're here to discuss Festools and their uses, this is not relevant.
I know we all find it annoying and frustrating but as long as these people continue to get reactions from us they will continue these attacks.
Right now your burning with a sharp retort.  Just take a breath, let it die here.

Don't respond to me, If you like and support this board, help to clean it up by NOT responding to more of this nonsense.

by adding something you feel you must just say, you will be adding to this constant infighting. You can be bigger than that.

Show your support by leaving this the last comment to this thread and letting it die here - alternatively, go ahead and add a comment - and show everyone here that you're really just trying to sabotage an excellent resource for the rest of us.
