I have a couple of Rotex's and need to do some outdoor sanding with a generator. Do I still need to hook up my CT, or will it perform okay without any suction hookup?

The CT Dust collector will help your sanding disks last longer  [wink]

No generator involved, but I set my son to work with a Makita half sheet outside a while back ... how else will he grow to appreciate Festool? ... comical clouds of dust, mess everywhere, he was covered in muck. As mentioned - abrasive life was incredibly short by my more recent experience. (and the Makitia did have a dust collector bag!)

You can certainly do it - but if your generator has the capacity to drive a CT and the Rotex I believe the extra effort will be "less effort" in the long run.
