battery warrenty?

I know that festool warranties the batteries that are sold with a tool for three years, but does it offer a three year warranty on batteries that are purchased separately?  My local dealer still has a nicad battery in stock for the c12 and seeing that I do a lot of work out in cold weather, I was thinking about buying it to augment my new c15.  Will this supplementary battery also carry the three year warranty?

Lithium batteries do have matching drill's serial number. How will it work for spare/replacement batteries (LiON)? Should somebody register it? Or three years warranty applies to original batteries only?

I'm not familiar with the warranty policies in Finland, but this would be one of the instances where Festool USA would require a proof of purchase (receipt).
