I'm thinking of making a long bench for the slabbing up, forsolid surface materials, as opposed to purchasing a large sliding table panel saw.

The bench would be around 3.5-4.0m long x 800mm wide.

I was thinking of possibly purchasing the hinge part if available of the MFT, and using an aluminium track along the front edge of the bench for cross cutting.

For ripping I could then purchase a machine with a smaller footprint.

Questions:-
1. Is part available?
2. Is it sturdy enough to use in an environment where different people would be using it?
3. Would the loose end of the rail just rely on the foam strip underneath to stop sideways movement?

Thanks in advance ???

The MFT parts are available, but I do differently.

I work by myself, so no one else uses my setup.
I use 2 MFT 1080s as benches with some 3/4" foam sheets on top as a cutting surface.
I then rip & cross cut the solid surface sheets with a TS55 & guide rails.

I was thinking of doing the same - Unfortunately being a newb here I cannot post a link - I did find them however

go to EKATdotFestooldotcom to look up the mft/3 for the US (if you are in the US) Hopefully I am not breaking any
rules here by posting this.

The rules change too often to keep up with.

Just in case.  MFT Parts
