Has anyone seen the new Benchdogs MFT?

Looks super expensive with the extensions and side tables, but does look superb.

Will be well over £1000 for the full set up.

Is anyone going to buy? I'm curious

If I were starting over I would go with Benchdog. I bought their hinge and it is fine stuff.

I have priced it up, with the main table, 2 x extensions and the two outrigger sections, its 1.4k which is insane.

The Festool STM, while not as nice looking, and still needing a top added, is a more cost effective solution.

I agree that the STM 1800 is a good option. It has lots of potential and versatility in the workshop. The product videos in German for the STM, and videos featuring other Festool products where they're also using the STM in the demonstration, show how useful the STM 1800 really is. If watching only the videos made in English for the U.S., you'll get the impression its really only for cutting sheet goods. Not so.

If the price is a concern you could build it yourself.
Benchtop MFT consists entirely from off the shelf components, except the stretchers, which are just flat strips of metal. T-slot extrusion can be ordered pre-cut from most manufacturers.
You'll probably end up at half price + your time and labor. The up side is you can size it to your needs and have bragging rights.

Do you have a link? Thanks

I don't have any links saved, but I probably found them by searching Festool's youtube site and looking for their videos in German. (You can turn on subtitles too). It's not the videos specifically aimed at the STM 1800, but rather demonstrations on how they use other tools, like their jigsaw as an example, and they clamp the workpiece to the STM in various ways. I bought one and haven't used it much yet (busy with other Summer projects outdoors), but I'm rather excited to have it and haven't any second thoughts. It stores away nicely beneath the MFT.
